The Vienna Business Agency is the central politico-economic instrument of the city of Vienna.  Our objective is the strengthening of Viennese businesses and their innovative potential together with the lasting modernisation of the economic location, in order to develop its international competitiveness.

In order to be able to provide different industries with the best services, the Vienna Business Agency has founded two subsidiary companies:
The  ZIT Centre for Innovation and Technology [ Zentrum für Innovation und Technologie] looks after research and innovation businesses in Vienna such as the media industry.
economy, art and culture departure Ltd [departure wirtschaft, kunst und kultur gmbh] is our funding agency for the entire Viennese creative industry. Through Vienna 3420 AG, we are jointly developing Aspern, Vienna’s lake-side town, together with the Republic of Austria.  The largest town development area in Europe with a vast range of business offers.

Our financing

The services of the Vienna Business Agency are predominantly financed by the public means of the city of Vienna. With approximately 3.5 million square meters of real estate property, we are amongst the largest property owners in the city. Through the management of commercial and industrial properties, the Vienna Business Agency increasingly manages sectoral self-financing. Likewise, the portion of EU means which we can raise for the financing of individual industries is increasing.
